When smoking, a smoker actually sucks in a myriad of toxins into his system. Smoking can create oxidation pressure and breaks down antioxidants like Vitamin C about twice as fast as nonsmokers. Thus, smokers age faster, their skin are coarse and susceptible to arterial disease and cancer. These are all in relation to the long-term oxidation pressure experienced by smokers.
In Netherlands, a long-term study was conducted on 9223 people aged 65 and above. The respondents were divided into three categories: smokers, irregular smokers and nonsmokers. Every two years, an evaluation was administered on their memory, cognitive ability, linguistic capacity and other abilities to measure their brain vitality. The result showed that smokers experience the most rapid deterioration in comparison to nonsmokers and irregular smokers.
To avoid from continuous oxidation pressure, the best way is to stop smoking immediately, eat plenty of vegetables and fruits, take multivitamins and vitamin C daily to replace lost antioxidants.
Curbing Alzheimer’s Disease and senility with diet is insufficient; the urgent step to take is to stop smoking, immediately!
